Digitization Best Practices in a Financially Challenged University Library

LAUREN P. KIPAAN is currently the Library Director of Benguet State University, his twelve year experience working with libraries of various economic capacities has enabled him to develop solutions and achieve goals through collaboration and underground initiatives. He obtained his Bachelor of Secondary Education (Library Science) from Benguet State University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Library and Information Technology. He received a scholarship in 2009, to attend the “Scientific and Technological Management of Information in Universities: an Active Learning Environment, Vrije held at Universitie Brussels, Belgium.

Abstract

The paper describes the strategy for application and imple-mentation of Digitization in the financially challenged Benguet State University Library. It discusses best practices that enabled the university library to optimize resource utilization, and deliver high quality, value added services to its users.
