Abstract

Library service is a vital component of education and should be provided for on-campus and off-campus students. The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) is the fifth autonomous member of the University of the Philippines System. It was established on February 23, 1995 to cater to the needs of non-residential students. It has students not only in the Philippines but also in Hong Kong and other Asian countries. The library is an integral component of the UPOU. It provides services to UPOU faculty, students and staff wherever they may be located. This paper describes the experience of the UPOU in providing library services to its clientele.
